The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories and warnings for several cities as the heat index - a measure of how hot it feels when relative humidity is factored in with air temperature - topped 100F (38C) earlier this week.
With many as those warnings still in place, temperatures are expected to range from 99F (37C) in Boston to 95F (35C) in Chicago. New York City had a forecast high of 99F, with the hot streak expected to break on Sunday.
Thunderstorms are expected to bring some relief this weekend.

"It's definitely unusual and going the wrong way," Mr Gottschalck told the AP news agency.
"This is pretty rare."
The National Weather Service has warned of the dangers of heat-related illnesses, asking area residents to be on the lookout for signs of fatigue, sunstroke, muscle cramps and heat exhaustion.

Via couriermail.com.au, 19 July 2013 - EXPERTS are looking for clues as to why common black kites are falling dead from north Queensland skies.
Black kites, also known as shite-hawks and firebirds, are medium-sized birds of prey and are among the few raptor species which gather in flocks. Testing has so far excluded bird flu and Newcastle disease, both highly contagious viral infections linked to mass deaths of migratory wild birds, and transmissible to humans.
But the cause of the latest spate of deaths, possibly linked to a cross-border infection, is still a mystery.
Biosecurity Queensland has confirmed it is testing "several kites in relation to unexplained deaths in the tropical north Queensland region''.
"The exact number of bird deaths is unknown and estimates are not available at this stage of the investigation,'' a spokesman told The Courier-Mail.
He said a range of tests were being undertaken for potential causes.
"Laboratory testing is ongoing to determine the cause of this mortality incident.''
Environment Department wildlife director Beck Williams said her office would investigate if it was suspected the birds might have been illegally killed.
Bird of prey expert James Biggs said it was highly unusual for raptors to die in large numbers or, literally, drop dead from the sky.
"If it is not disease, it could possibly be poisoning, but without being familiar with the ongoing tests it is hard to know,'' the Cairns Tropical Zoo bird supervisor said.
Black kites prey on insects, small animals and birds, and can spend all day soaring on the wing, hawking insects out of the air and eating them on the fly.
"They are often seen hovering around fires, like cane burn-off, where they catch the insects pushed up on the updraft,'' Mr Biggs said.
"But if there is a road kill they will feed on that too.
"Whatever it is that is killing them I'd be very keen to know why. It's a puzzle.''
In the messages on the Planet X of the 2012 Glorious Hope, Pastor Wind shared with us that the Solar System that our Earth situated in, is probably a Double Sun System. It means that the Sun we see every day, is not the only sun in the Solar System. Probably there is another Dark Star, which resolves with the sun with a binary circle of 22,000 to 26,000 years.
The Planet X is a Brown Dwarf which has never lit. Besides, it has a long elliptical orbit, which revolves around the Sun and the Dark Star for every 3,600 years. In 1972, NASA launched Pioneer 10 and 11 to seek for the Dark Star and the Planet X. Till 1983, NASA also launched IRAS, which discovered the Planet X. At the same time, they probably also discovered the existence of the Dark Star. However, few days after the release of the findings of the Planet X, NASA immediately changed their words and denied the existence of the Planet X and even the Dark Star.
Indeed, the Double Sun System or a Multi-sun Solar System is a very common type of Solar System in the universe.
As early as 1970s to 1980s, the famous science popularization novelist Isaac Asimov, and the former spokesperson of NASA public relation and the legendary astronomer, Carl Sagan, they all believed in the existence of another Dark Star in the Solar System. Also, this Dark Star was the cause of catastrophe that happened regularly on Earth.
Three years before Isaac Asimov passed away, in 1989, he published a space science fiction called Nemesis. Nemesis pointed out that this Dark Star will cause catastrophe on Earth.
In the novel of Nemesis, Isaac Asimov once described why nobody took notice of this Dark Star. It is because it came from Earth’s far southern sky. So, most of the telescopes couldn’t even point in that direction.
"There was no reason to notice it. No one looked at it. It's in Earth's far southern sky, so that most of the telescopes in pre-Settlement days couldn't even point in that direction."
Indeed, this matches what Pastor Wind has described that the Planet X would come from the southern part of the Ecliptic of the Solar System, so that man could only see the star when they were in the South Pole with the telescope.
On February 17, 2011, the Astrophysicists of the University of Louisiana, John Matese and Daniel Whitmire both claimed that it was possible that outside the Solar System, there was another great planet called Tyche.
Indeed, on December 9, 2009, in the Preparation Camp of the 2012 Glorious Hope Message, Pastor Wind shared with us that, at the moment, other than the Sun we know and the nine planets including Pluto, there was another mysterious planet called the Planet X.
Coincidently, various information of the Planet X matched the information of Tyche.
For example, the data described that Tyche was very huge, which was bigger than Jupiter by 4 times, the biggest planet in the solar system with mass equals to 5,300 earths.
Similarly, Pastor Wind also shared with us that the Planet X was probably bigger than Jupiter by 4 times. This matched the information of the Tyche, which was discovered in 2011. Besides, it pointed out that Tyche ws similar to Jupiter, which was a gas planet formed by Hydrogen and Helium and a Brown Dwarf that not yet lit up.
This matched what Pastor Wind described about the Planet X, which wzs a Brown Dwarf too.
But , these scientists also pointed out that, they needed to use WISE Satellite Telescope to find out more information in order to prove the existence of this great planet Tyche and its location.
In the beginning of 2011, another Astronomer said to the public that Betelgeuse of Orion will probably collapse and explode as a supernova. And there will be two suns on the sky of the Earth for a few days.
Indeed, did NASA hide the fact from the public as early as 1984? It is because they do not want the public to know the fact that they have discovered the Planet X and the Dark Star for such a long period of time, since both of them will bring disasters to the Earth just like what is prophesied in the Revelation.

Ian Dalziel, research professor at The University of Texas at Austin's Institute for Geophysics and professor in the Jackson School of Geosciences, and his colleagues report the findings today in an online edition of the journal Geology.

The Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC), an ocean current flowing clockwise around the entire continent, insulates Antarctica from warmer ocean water to the north, helping maintain the ice sheet. For several decades, scientists have surmised that the onset of a complete ACC played a critical role in the initial glaciation of the continent about 34 million years ago.
Now, rock samples from the central Scotia Sea near Antarctica reveal the remnants of a now-submerged volcanic arc that formed sometime before 28 million years ago and might have blocked the formation of the ACC until less than 12 million years ago. Hence, the onset of the ACC may not be related to the initial glaciation of Antarctica, but rather to the subsequent well-documented descent of the planet into a much colder "icehouse" glacial state.
"If you had sailed into the Scotia Sea 25 million years ago, you would have seen a scattering of volcanoes rising above the water," says Dalziel. "They would have looked similar to the modern volcanic arc to the east, the South Sandwich Islands."
Using multibeam sonar to map seafloor bathymetry, which is analogous to mapping the topography of the land surface, the team identified seafloor rises in the central Scotia Sea. They dredged the seafloor at various points on the rises and discovered volcanic rocks and sediments created from the weathering of volcanic rocks. These samples are distinct from normal ocean floor lavas and geochemically identical to the presently active South Sandwich Islands volcanic arc to the east of the Scotia Sea that today forms a barrier to the ACC, diverting it northward. This is a reconstruction of the Scotia Sea area 25 million years ago, showing volcanoes of the ancestral South Sandwich arc (ASSA). They are now submerged, but were active at that time and possibly emergent. They may have blocked the onset of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current. (NSR = North Scotia Ridge; SSR = South Scotia Ridge; SG = South Georgia island)
Using a technique known as argon isotopic dating, the researchers found that the samples range in age from about 28 million years to about 12 million years. The team interpreted these results as evidence that an ancient volcanic arc, referred to as the ancestral South Sandwich arc (ASSA), was active in the region during that time and probably much earlier. Because the samples were taken from the current seafloor surface and volcanic material accumulates from the bottom up, the researchers infer that much older volcanic rock lies beneath.
Combined with models of how the seafloor sinks vertically with the passage of time, the team posits that the ASSA originally rose above sea level and would have blocked deep ocean currents such as the ACC.
Two other lines of evidence support the notion that the ACC didn't begin until less than 12 million years ago. First, the northern Antarctic Peninsula and southern Patagonia didn't become glaciated until less than approximately 12 million years ago. And second, certain species of microscopic creatures called dinoflagellates that thrive in cold polar water began appearing in sediments off southwestern Africa around 11.1 million years ago, suggesting colder water began reaching that part of the Atlantic Ocean.

Meanwhile, to the northeast, at least 12 workers were killed when a violent rainstorm caused the collapse of an unfinished coal mine workshop they were building, said a statement from the city government of Jinzhong, where the accident occurred. The accident Tuesday night came amid heavy rain and high winds across a swath of northern China, including the capital, Beijing. There was no immediate word on the chances of survival for the 30 or so people buried in the landslide in the city of Dujiangyan in Sichuan province, but rescue workers with search dogs rushed to the area, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
State-run China Central Television said hundreds of people were trapped in a highway tunnel between Dujiangyan and Wenchuan - the epicenter of the earthquake five years ago that left 90,000 people dead or missing. Authorities were not able to make contact with the people, the report said.
Mudslides and flooding are common in China's mountainous areas, killing hundreds of people every year. Deforestation has led to soil erosion and made some parts of China prone to mudslides after strong rains.
In nearby Beichuan county, flooding destroyed buildings and wrecked exhibits at a memorial for the 2008 earthquake. The quake left the Beichuan county seat unlivable. The town was abandoned, and 27 square kilometers (10 square miles) of ruins were turned into a memorial and museum.
The flooding also caused the collapse of an almost 50-year-old bridge in a neighboring county, sending six vehicles into the raging waters and leaving 12 people missing.
Since Sunday, flooding in Sichuan has affected 360,000 people, damaging or destroying 300 homes and forcing at least 6,100 emergency evacuations, state media reported.
A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.

The heavenly signs mentioned in Revelation 12 actually describe the heavenly signs that appear during the Feast of Trumpets each year while verse 2 describes a pregnant woman in travail.

The seven feasts of Israel, Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Firstfruits, Pentecost, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles, are for God to model his churches.
So, the seven feasts represent the path of the righteous, and even the period from a woman’s pregnancy until the birth of the baby.

The first feast:
Passover on 14th of the first month represents the beginning of faith.
Jesus was crucified on the day of Passover, giving birth to the church.
Relatively, the fertilized egg appears on the 14th day after the mother is pregnant.
Hence, from generations to generations, in addition to lamb, Israelis would eat an egg during Passover.
Afterwards, on the second to the sixth day, this egg will be implanted in the uterus of the pregnant woman, and begin to grow.
Corresponding to the second to sixth day after Passover, it is the Feast of Unleavened Bread. It is also the wave offering during the Feast of Firstfruits.
Jesus’ resurrection and ascension happened on the Feast of Firstfruits, three days after Passover.
He led a group of saints in paradise to heaven, and became the first fruits in the wave offering.

And then He came back and explained the Bible to His disciples, and shared the truth of the whole gospel. Hence, the church on earth also became the first fruits.
Fifty days after Passover, the Holy Spirit descended.

Compared to a fertilized embryo, it begins to have a human-shaped body, with hands, arms, fingers, legs, toes, eyes and head, after fifty days.
Four months later, the embryo is still growing.
This corresponds to the absence of feast within the four months after Pentecost.
Until the first day of July, it is the Feast of Trumpets.
At that time, Israelis would make sound by blowing the trumpets.
All people in Jerusalem can hear.

Before this day, the baby would breathe in difficulty if it is born.
But after this day, he can breathe by himself. He can live outside of his mother.
In September, it is the Feast of Dedication, which is added apart from the law of Israeli.

On the eighth day after birth, the baby is to be circumcised. It is the same day that the lamp is lighted.

The modern technology allows us to know the specific events that happen to the embryo on specific days.
But God has already fixed the feasts through Moses 3500 years ago.
We can see that the live drama of feasts is arranged supernaturally by God.
By the rehearsal of feasts, we need to leave the elementary teachings about Christ, grow up continuously to become the body of Christ, and attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ!

"This higher density plasma 'ball' was sustained over one hour by the HAARP transmissions and was extinguished only after termination of the HAARP radio beam." These glow discharges in the upper atmosphere were generated as a part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) sponsored Basic Research on Ionospheric Characteristics and Effects (BRIOCHE) campaign to explore ionospheric phenomena and its impact on communications and space weather.
Using the 3.6-megawatt high-frequency (HF) HAARP transmitter, the plasma clouds, or balls of plasma, are being studied for use as artificial mirrors at altitudes 50 kilometers below the natural ionosphere and are to be used for reflection of HF radar and communications signals.
Past attempts to produce electron density enhancements have yielded densities of 4 x 105 electrons per cubic centimeter (cm3) using HF radio transmissions near the second, third, and fourth harmonics of the electron cyclotron frequency. This frequency near 1.44 MHz is the rate that electrons gyrate around the Earth's magnetic field.
The NRL group succeeded in producing artificial plasma clouds with densities exceeding 9 x 105 electrons cm3 using HAARP transmission at the sixth harmonic of the electron cyclotron frequency.
Optical images of the artificial plasma balls show that they are turbulent with dynamically changing density structures. Electrostatic waves generated by the HAARP radio transmissions are thought to be responsible for accelerating electrons to high enough energy to produce the glow discharge in the neutral atmosphere approaching altitudes of nearly 170 kilometers.
The artificial plasma clouds are detected with HF radio soundings and backscatter, ultrahigh frequency (UHF) radar backscatter, and optical imaging systems. Ground measurements of stimulated electromagnetic emissions provide evidence of the strength and frequency for the electrostatic waves that accelerated ambient electrons to ionizing velocities.
The NRL team is working with collaborators at SRI International, University of Alaska Fairbanks, University of Florida, and BAE Systems on this project to synthesize the observations with parametric interactions theory to develop a comprehensive theory of the plasma cloud generation. The next HAARP campaign, scheduled for early 2013, will include experiments to develop denser, more stable ionization clouds.
